Finally, I'm back. Again I had to take a lil break from posting on here because I have been so busy! Studying a masters, working part time, being an intern, having a boyfriend and trying to have a social life is actually difficult, who knew? Anyway, in amongst all of this uni work I (somehow) managed to escape to Paris for 2 days to celebrate my younger sisters 21st birthday. I had never been to Paris before but it is one of my sister's favourite cities. I was lucky to have her as my tour guide as we had such limited time so I have decided to share some of my top travel tips for anyone who only has 2 days to explore the magical city of Paris. Now, I know Paris is a huge city and I personally didn't have time to experience everything during my 2 day trip therefore, these tips are just based on my experience.
Tip1: Plan (but don't plan too hard) It is good to have a rough idea of the things you wish to see whilst you are in Paris. However, don't plan everything down to the T as sometimes things don't work out and you don't want to be left feeling disappointed. Each day my sister and I made a list of the places we wanted to see and then we were able to decide the route we would take around Paris saving us time on deciding where we were going next. Tip 2: Prioritise Paris is abundant with things to do and see and I'm sure there will be tonnes of stuff on your list that you wish to do whilst you are there. But, let's be realistic. By prioritising you are not left disappointed that you didn't get to see or do something that was important to you on this trip. Tip 3: Use Local Transport Paris is a massive city and as you would expect there is a lot of traffic. We stayed a little out of the city as it was cheaper and rode the metro everyday into the city centre. There is a metro around every 15 minutes so you never have to wait long and the fares are cheap. A fast alternative to getting around the city. Tip 4: Wear Comfortable Shoes This maybe sounds a bit cliché but on the first day my sister got a blister. Not what you need when you are walking for miles each day. I know Paris is said to be the 'Fashion Capital of the World' but once you get there you realise the Parisians are not dressed like they have just came off the catwalk as they go about their day to day lives. I styled all my day time outfits around my trainers and comfort was key. So there you have some of my top travel tips for 48 hours in Paris. As a side note I would definitely recommend going to the top of the Arc de Triomphe and visiting the Latin Quarter for food. If like me you are there in the cooler months a pit stop at Angelina's for some macaroons and their famous hot chocolate is also a must!
