On Wednesday I was kindly invited to a blogger event at the Aberdeen Body Shop store. The event was in aid of some new product launches and allowed us an exclusive first look - including consultations and advice from the Body Shop experts. As a loyal Body Shop customer I was excited for this event and curious to find out about the new products. So, after attending the event I felt inspired to share with you a few of the many reasons why I love the Body Shop - including some short reviews on the products I received in my goodie bag from the event and products that I use and love already. 1.The coconut hand cream. I’m not someone who tends to use hand cream. However, I gave this a go and I loved it. It smelt amazing and it made my hands super soft. My whole body has been feeling the effects of this cold weather recently so I was pleasantly surprised by this product. 2.The olive exfoliating body scrub. Another product I wouldn’t usually pick up in store. I used it in the shower and at the time it didn’t feel like much of a scrub however afterwards my skin was silky smooth. Again as my skin has been dry recently this was a nice addition to my routine. 3.The youth concentrate sheet mask. At the event I got a free skin consultation from one of the lovely Body Shop girls and we did a hydration test on my skin. Shockingly my score was 19 (which is bad). This led to my purchase of this brand new product. The drops of youth are known for hydrating and revitalising skin so of course I had to buy a sheet mask drenched in the stuff. I left in on for 15 minutes and it left my skin feeling fresh and hydrated - will definitely be repurchasing. 4.Now for the products I already use on the regular. First up is the tea tree foaming cleanser and toner. I can be one spotty adult! So these tea tree products really help keep my skin in check. Tea tree oil is well known for clearing problem skin and I’m not saying these products are miracle workers but I definitely see an improvement in my skin compared to when I didn’t use them. 5.The vitamin E gel moisturiser. This moisturiser contains hyaluronic acid which plumps up the skin and keeps the moisture in. The vitamin E compound of the moisturiser acts as an antioxidant helping reduce swelling and skin complexion. I find the gel texture really cooling on my skin and helps stop my skin from looking shiny. 6.The Himalayan charcoal purifying glow mask. This clay mask also contains tea tree leaves which is good for problem skin. The mask draws out impurities and really cleanses the skin. I only use this mask around once a week as it can be a little drying on my skin if I use it too often but it always leaves my skin feeling extra fresh. And who doesn’t love a face mask? 7.Lastly, I love that the Body Shop is always fighting towards environmental change. They are recognised for their work towards eliminating animal testing and at the event we found out this year they are working to reduce their plastic consumption by looking to use more sustainable packaging. The month of February seems to be deemed self-love month so I thought this blog post would be fitting. Loving others is important but loving yourself is essential. So even if you plan on doing nothing this Sunday at least give yourself a lil pamper. You deserve it. Happy Sunday x
