So as you’ve guessed from the title (or if you follow me on Instagram) I was in Dublin this weekend with my boyfriend and I had the best time exploring this cute city and trying out the Irish nightlife. Our weekend was jam packed and it felt like we didn’t get a chance to just relax. Anyway here are some of my highlights. The Guinness StorehouseWe debated whether or not to visit the iconic Guinness storehouse as none of us drank Guinness so didn’t know whether or not the tour would be worth it. On the Saturday the weather wasn’t too great so we decided to go as we would be inside but I’m so glad we did. Inside it is nothing like I expected it is defenitely worth the money. The tour spans over 7 floors - which you can walk round at your own leisure - of interactive information points and ends with a free pint of Guinness in their sky bar with the best view of Dublin. (I honestly thought I would be walking round an old factory with a tour guide). The FoodObviously being on ‘holiday’ we decided to eat out ALOT and we found lots of good food places including a cute little cafe that only had about 4 seats and a sky bar named Sophie's at the top of a hotel with a 360 view of Dublin at night where we enjoyed stonebaked pizza and cocktails. The photos I took speak for themselves really. PitBro’s BBQ Beanhive Cafe The Rolling Donut Eddie Rockets Diner The Bubble Waffle Factory Dublin Airport Breakfast/Boston Donut SightseeingWe were always out seeing something or wandering around during the day. We used the tram everyday to get from our hotel to the city centre then we walked to wherever we were heading. The architecture in Dublin is almost old fashioned with lots of cobbled, quaint streets - and it looked almost exactly as I expected it too. NightlifeWe were only there for 3 nights so we wanted to try a bit of everything. We went to the Temple Bar area and tried out some Irish bars. Most had live music and were really lively, we even stumbled across the bar where P.S I love you was filmed - the walls were laden with photos of lots of famous musicians that had played there including: Alex Turner, Iggy Azalea and Paloma Faith. We also went to District 8 a venue known for supporting house and techno DJ’s and we danced to Mele and Huxley. We also found Sophie’s, a more sophisticated establishment where we had some nice cocktails. We really had a mix of everything. I had an amazing time in Dublin and I can’t wait to book my next city break! I know this was a long post so thanks for reading!
